Deskrawl Runes and transmutation
The developer's published 9-to-1 transmutation outcomes, class restriction, and the Grand rune additions in patches 1.0.1 and 1.0.2.
Official sources reviewed October 9, 2026Patch 1.0.2 adds Rune Transmutation at Alchemists. Combine nine runes of the same rarity to receive one random rune. The possible result depends on the input rarity, and the result is selected from runes usable by your current character class.
Rune Transmutation outcomes
The table below reproduces the outcomes given in the official 1.0.2 announcement. Each recipe consumes nine runes of one rarity and produces one random result. The percentages describe transmutation outcomes, not rune drop rates.
| Ingredients | Result |
|---|---|
| 9 Uncommon runes | 50% chance of 1 Rare rune; otherwise 1 Uncommon rune |
| 9 Rare runes | 15% chance of 1 Legendary rune; otherwise 1 Rare rune |
| 9 Legendary runes | 50% chance of 1 Rune Set rune; otherwise 1 Legendary rune |
| 9 Rune Set runes | 1 random Rune Set rune |
The announcement says results are drawn from runes usable by the current character's class. It does not promise a specific rune within that class's eligible pool.
What changed in patches 1.0.1 and 1.0.2?
- Patch 1.0.1: 32 Legendary Grand versions of existing Rare skill runes were added, eight per class. The developer says they have stronger stats and an ability-level bonus and can be traded on the Auction.
- Patch 1.0.2: 24 new rune types were added for abilities not covered by earlier runes. Each has a Rare version and a Legendary Grand version, giving 48 newly added runes in this patch.
- Patch 1.0.2: Rune Transmutation became available from Alchemists under the outcomes above.
What the announcements do not establish
The official rules do not provide a complete list of rune names, an exact drop table, or the in-game button sequence for opening Alchemist transmutation. We will add a current in-game inventory and screenshots when they can be verified. For other systems changed in these patches, see developer updates.
