Deskrawl Minions explained
A source-linked overview of what Minions do, how Reins relate to them, and what has changed in recent patches.
Official sources reviewed October 9, 2026The developer says Deskrawl lets you capture enemies, including bosses, as Minions. Minions can haul the loot cart and support combat through passive bonuses or special abilities. Steam Rein listings say using a Rein permanently unlocks its matching Minion.
What do Minions do?
The official game page names three parts of the system: capturing enemies as Minions, hauling the loot cart, and combat support. It says some Minions provide passive buffs while others use special abilities. This describes the available roles; it is not a ranking of individual Minions.
How do Reins relate to Minions?
A Rein is an item whose Steam Market description names a corresponding Minion and says that using the Rein permanently unlocks it. The Take the Reins achievement also describes unlocking a Minion with a Rein. Browse the Reins guide for 17 source-linked Legendary Rein examples and the current pickup-filter rule.
The published sources do not show whether every Minion is obtained through a Rein or exactly how the capture and Rein systems connect in the game UI.
A versioned Minion example
Patch 1.0.0h increased the Lord of the Crimson Vale Minion's Carriage Capacity from 25 to 30. This is an example of a Minion-specific stat changing with a patch. Numbers from older screenshots or guides may refer to a different version.
Patch 1.0.0i also says Legendary Reins are always picked up regardless of filter settings. That is a Rein pickup rule, explained further on the Reins page.
What we have not verified in the interface
The official pages reviewed here do not provide a complete sequence for finding a Rein in Inventory, pressing a particular Use control, opening a Minion panel, or choosing and switching Minions. We will document those steps after a current-version screen capture. This page records confirmed mechanics and patch changes.
